Prof. Dr. Chand Kumar Atal is a multidisciplinary award winning scientist, academician, art collector and polymath. He ranks highly among the top Pharmacognosists internationally. He is considered as a visionary and a living legend in his field and profession by his contemporaries. He has been a towering personality in his field who has inspired generations of scientists, and his achievements as well as his name is mentioned in the list of pioneers in scientific journals in India and abroad. His contributions have had pioneering global impact in various sciences, technologies, rural research, health, drug research and medicinal plants research. His equally passionate tryst with art, culture and history has made him an art connoisseur, critic, patron, writer and collector. As an art collector he has also delivered lectures at numerous institutes, contributed articles and also promoted cultural & art activities.
